On Sunday, June 29th, we celebrated sporteve's second anniversary with a 5K Run/Walk in our hometown of Culver City.  We are proud to report that the inaugural sporteve 5k was an overwhelming success!

A total of 350 people participated in the race. We began the day's festivities with a warm up led by Lori Christensen of viXen Training. As the race gun went off, racers sped west on Washington Blvd until the turnaround point just before Sepulveda. All roads were closed to traffic allowing for a safe running route. Despite the early morning heat, the race was fast. Our overall top finisher was Alberto Ramos (16:07). The top female finisher Tove Berg (17:27) came in shortly after. The top three finishers in each age group received a medal. We also gave awards to the fastest Culver City Family (Mary and Craig Schoenbaum), fastest Entertainment Firm team (Team Turbo - John Dipietro and Mike Hudson), and fastest Culver City Department team (Culver City Police Department).

A THANK YOU goes out to our exhibitors that came out for race day. Conservatory Coffee, a local coffee roaster, shared their delicious freshly roaster coffee. Fluid provided our post race recovery drink, one of the best on the market. Denise Mazan from Your Neighborhood Studio led a post race stretch at the finish. LA Sport Massage offered free massages to race participants.

Post race food included bagels from Noah's Bagels, oranges and yogurt smoothies compliments of Whole Foods, water from Ralph's and Trader Joe's in Culver City, and granola from M Café, the awesome café in the hear of Culver City.

Team in Training, LA Tri Club, Lynn Cohen Foundation, and Moving Comfort shared information and products at the expo in Media Park.
